The international association of translators and interpreters holds an international congress every three years. This time, the German BDÜ hosted the conference in Berlin. And what a conference it was! More than 1600 participants from over 70 countries, over 6000 tweets from several hundred twitterers. I met so many great people and learned so much. If you missed the congress, here are two Storify collections for the sessions I (co)organized - one on the interface between interpreters and technology, and one workshop on iPads for interpreters.

In April 2014, I went to Utrecht to attend the First OCPE Conference at the Nieuwegein Business Center. OCPE (Opleidingscentrum Permanente Educatie) offers continuous training for translators and interpreters in the Netherlands. The event in Utrecht was the first ever conference organised by Danuta Jong, the mastermind behind OCPE, and Iulianna van der Lek, who runs the TradFlow language consultancy. Intitled "Translation technology - opportunity or threat?" it was certainly one of the most interesting and best organised conferences I have been to. You can consult the programme here.
