A look into my #terpbag

I don't know about you, but I really like websites that show what other people carry in their bags, like this one or this one. So just in case anyone else shares this interest, here's what's in my #terpbag.

  1. My iPad Air 2. Probably the best iPad I've ever owned (as long as I don't break down and buy an iPad Pro...) - it's small, light, has great battery life and good sound, too.
  2. The Microsoft Universal Mobile Keyboard. Yes, Microsoft. I've tried several mobile keyboards - this is the best one for me (and for The Verge).
  3. Just a cheap wallet I picked up at Nature & Découvertes a while ago.
  4. A mobile battery pack to recharge all my devices. This is a true lifesaver for travellers. I'd recommend you have a look at Anker's packs on Amazon.
  5. Jabra's Move Bluetooth headphones. Love 'em for listening to podcasts, music, and taking the occasional call. (Does anybody actually use their phone for calls anymore?) If the battery ever runs out, you can just connect them with a simple audio cable and keep listening.
  6. My iPhone 6. At the risk of sounding boring, this is the best smartphone I've ever owned. (And believe my, I've gone through quite a few in recent years, across all major platforms except Blackberry.)
  7. My keys. I saw this Keysmart key organiser on the web earlier this year and got one straight away. It's great for neat freaks like me.
  8. Double charger. Because sometimes, you need to charge the phone and the tablet at the same time.
  9. Card reader for my bank. Because we still don't have Apple Pay in Belgium.
  10. Studentenfutter. Trail mix. Mendiants. Whatever you call it, it's perfect booth food. (My Russian interpreting teacher always advocated rice wafers, but I hate those.)
  11. Cables and adapters - the bane of the tablet interpreter's existence. I carry several USB cables for Lightning, Micro-USB, Mini-USB and 30-pin connections. (This one here even does double duty.) My accessories bag also contains a Lightning-to-VGA and a Lightning-to-HDMI adapter for presentations, a Lightning-to-USB camera adapter (to connect my USB microphone for podcasting) and a Lightning-to-SD-card reader (because you never know).
  12. Water bottle. Get one, seriously. At work, we have water fountains everywhere, so there's no need to buy rip-off bottled water. When I travel, I usually bring a water bottle with an active carbon filter (like this one called "Bobble") so I can even fill up with tap water.
  13. Pencil case with a wide choice of styluses (including the 53 Pencil and the Studio Neat Cosmonaut).

Now - over to you. What's in YOUR #terpbag? Leave a comment or share it on Twitter using the hashtag #terpbag.
